Shtaa-hye

So here I am today online looking for something to search and then it came to me, "I have a blog!" So I googled my old blog and voila there it was and now here I am.
Man two years ago was the last time I was on here. It seems like a long time ago, let me see...hmm...I was 30 years old that time, two months and ten days away from being nisimidana ashi bezhig. I can see from reading my last few posts that I was in the middle of Beaver Fever, I guess an update from that fever wouldn't hurt: we made it to the Frozen Four!!! Now we have this new Sanford Center aka BREC where the hockey team plays. Its going good over there. I still follow the Beavers but lately they haven't been having that much success in their new conference.

Anyways enough of that. So a lot has happened the past two years. We lost a dear family member last January. I will always remember her for being a very nice, very outgoing, funny, fun to be around, loving, caring, woman. I remember I first met her Thanksgiving evening 1999; from that point on I knew I would get along with her, and I did. She really is missed.

Jamie graduated from her Gikenoomaagejigaboo...LOL...Program. She is currently in her first year of teaching at the Ponemah Elementary School in.....Ponemah. I am so proud of her. She put in a lot of effort and hard work and dedication to complete her degree and also to get through her first few months of employment. I love her very much. Things are looking up for us right now; good times, good times. Getting closer and closer to that big thing..lol

This past Christmas I spent more than I could really spend. Oh well, everybody loved their gifts. That had to be the most I ever spent on my side of the family for....lol...just a big spender I am.

I'm laughing at myself here because I'm thinking, "One of the reasons I quit blogging was I didn't know what to write." Now here I am not knowing what to write at this moment. I'll end it here. Who knows maybe I'll write again tomorrow.

Bye Bye

Where has time gone?

I haven't yet to check up on my old blogs. I wanted to post this first just to show that I came back here at this time.

Beaver Fever

Don't perv out with the title.
Bemidi State mens hockey team are home this weekend against their conference foes Niagara University. This is gonna be a good two game series. Beavers need to pull both games off to hold on to their conference lead with Niagra creeping up right behind them. Im pretty sure I wont make the games this weekend down the road, sure would be awesome though. I'll be sure to watch some of the action on Charter Channel 17. Go Beavers!!
I put up a couple of pics from two BSU games I went to. The bottom one is a game between BSU and UND where Jamie and I went with a couple of goood friends; BSU lost though 3-2. The top pic was taken this past Saturday down in Duluth where the Beavers took on the Bulldogs; the Beavers lost 4-2 but it was a good game and a good trip; Jamie and I along with Jim and Gayle went and watched. I hope to catch a few more games before the season ends; actually I hope to catch the Conference tournament in March here in Bemidji; winner of that tournament makes it to the national tournament. Go Beavers!! (again)

This is now

Well its been three days since the family left. I miss them already. It was pretty tough watching them drive off; I got all choked up. They spent a long five days down here with us; that was a long time. It almost seemed as though they were living with us the whole time; thats why it was sad to see them leave, I was getting used to seeing their faces everyday. Now its just quiet. No Aryis running around, singing, playing games, watching Noggin; no Kemper crying for a bottle, and smiling and laughing almost all the time; no hearing Bri, Tashina, and mom laugh and speak. It's just quiet.
Oh well...thats life eh? I got mine and they have theirs. Life goes on. It's not like I'll never, ever see them again.

Parent teacher conferences tomorrow night. Man they take forever. 4 to 8 pm. Gonna be a very longggggg day and night.

Its cold outside.

Thanksgiving

What a day it was. I got up in the morning around 9ish or so. Stayed up the rest of the day with the family and enjoyed the whole day. Mmmm...I saved my appetite for the big dinner which got underway at 3ish. My mother cooked one heck of a feast. We had the turkey of course, wild rice, mixed vegetables, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and Jamie cooked up a storm with her awesome fry bread. Wow the holding back on food most of the day was well paid off when we ate. I must of had atleast three plates and about three or four maybe even five frybread. Man that was an awesome dinner.
It's been a very long time since I had a Thanksgiving meal with the family. Mom, Bri, Tashina, Aryis and baby Kemper are here today and are going to be here until Sunday. I was very thankful that they took time off their work and personal life during a week to come down and visit us. I love them so much. I want these next few days to go by real slow because I don't want them to leave.
Mom and Tashina are at the casino at the moment; Bri, Jamie and I went to go see "Twilight"; that was a pretty good movie by the way. Oh man Kemper is such a cutie. He is the best in the whole world, Aryis too. I just love them so much.
Black Friday tomorrow. I'll be watching the boys while the family goes out in the early morning to do some serious shopping. My Jamie is going out herself also. Hopefully get something sweet out of this Black Friday (what a day to call another federally recognized Holiday on the same day,"Nativer American Heritage Day"; pathetic.) Anyhow....its Thursday. Enjoy the weekend.

Right now moment

Right now I'm watching Mr. Bean's Holiday while I write this. Gaazh is laying beside me on the floor by the couch. Jamie is cooking up some lunch...mmm...smells delicious. It looks like a nice day outside. The sun is out, the sky is blue, and the sound of traffic is alive and well. I think hockey on CBC starts at the top of the hour. Perhaps watch a bit of it after I eat. Mmmmm I can smell that coffee...yummy. Coffe and cigarettes is the best combination in the world.
Hows your day? Carry on.

The Mother Land

Just thought I would share a map with all of you. So this is Treaty 3. My homeland so to speak. Where I come from and where I am enrolled at. Actually I'm enrolled at Naotkamegwanning. So I just thought I would put this up. Give you a little idea of where I'm from.
